Competition Information – Juniors

Winston Hills Baseball Club has a long history of serving the families in the Hills District. WHBC are part of the Hills competition which play against other local Hills teams. Teams are organised by grading of players, then teams are placed onto a league (division) to play against similarly graded teams across the competition. The number of players available to play within the Hills competition will determine the number of leagues on a yearly basis.
Players are organised by age and ability.
At every level rules and playing field dimensions are aligned to fit the physical growth and maturity of players.
  • Beeball ages 4 – 5

  • Modball age 10

Beeball

Beeball is a non-competitive modified t-ball field designed to give 4-5 year olds a fun and engaging way to throw, catch and hit. All 45 minute games are played at Col Sutton Reserve on Friday evenings.

U8's (Ages 5-7) T-Ball

Players in U8’s are hitting off a tee to play T-ball. Players in this group are learning the fundamental elements to playing baseball with coaches actively assisting on and off the field of play. U8 age teams play beginning in mid-October through to the end of March.

All games are played on Saturday mornings generally starting at 8.30 or 10.30 against local Hills district teams for 1.15 hours.

U9's (Ages 8-9) T-Ball

Modball is the next progression before Live ball. In Modball, players are no longer using a tee to hit the ball. Seniors Competition

Winston Hills Baseball Club isn’t just for juniors. Seniors teams are made of men and women who wish to continue their passion for the game of baseball. Winston Hills has a tradition of placing competitively fun teams in both local senior baseball competitions. Sydney Metro Baseball League and Pacific Coast Baseball League.

Generally summer competitions go from September to March. Winter competitions go from March to August. Teams are comprised of players from all over the world with varying abilities and skills that compete in the highly competitive Division 1-4 levels down through the G and H grades.

There are opportunities for 15 – 17 year old players to play on seniors teams, however it is recommended to first have experience playing at a juniors level first  and discuss options with the club.

As baseball continues to grow in popularity, there are growing generations of families moving up the junior competitions who want to continue playing baseball in the senior competitions. We have had a number of father/sons or daughters on the same team in recent years. Registrations typically occur in July/August for summer competitions and February/March for winter competitions.

Ask the club how you can be part of a seniors team.
